How long will I have to be on my benzodiazepine for TMJ?

I was recently diagnosed with TMJ for my jaw pain and was prescribed a benzo called klonopin and was wondering how long I will have to be on this medicine before it gets better? I have noticed that it helps me not to grind my teeth and relaxes the jaw but when it is not taken it is like the opposite will I always have to take this medicine to feel relief?

Valium?

I have to get my wisdom teeth out in a few weeks, and the doctor is having me take a 10mg valium before the surgery, but i am getting knocked out too..so why do ihave to take the valium…..i am just confused
well i know some people who have went there and didnt get valium, and he also said that i have tmd..tempormandibular disorder from clenching my teeth, would that have any thing to do with it..
