If a foster parent is found to be doing things that are illegal or dangerous such as taking prescription drugs without a prescription or drinking and driving, then it is very likely that they will lose their position as a foster caregiver. Foster caregivers are supposed to be responsible and provide a safer environment than that of the real parent(s), whether they are in jail, incapacitated, or deemed unfit to parent. A foster parent who drinks and takes prescription drugs without a prescription is not providing that type of environment.

why are children and babies in care is the question that we should be asking ourselves, a lot of children are in care because of the abuse of their parents, not just physical abuse but mental abuse, some children have been raised with parent or parents who are dependent on alcohol or drugs, whilst under this addiction these poor children are left to their own devices, we have heard cases on the news or in the papers of children sitting in their cots undernourished, dirty, unloved, whilst their parents are under the influence of these addictions, some of these children are put into care and are fostered out, how terrible then for these children to be fostered out to so called ‘carers’ who treat them exactly the same as the so called home they came from. if you or someone you know are the foster parents of these poor children please let the social services know so they can place them with someone who really cares, fostering children is not easy and its no shame if you have to admit it, do it for the children
