Medication help, stilnox & Diazepam, taking together?
coffee.bean12 asked:
Is it safe to take stilnox and Diazepam together?
I do not mean like swallow both at once, but if I am on Diazepam during the day/evening, how long should I be waiting before I can take a stilnox at night?

And if I am on both medications is there a limit to how many should be taken?
I have been prescribed 20mg stilnox and the diazepam was introduced by another doctor who might not have been aware I am on stilnox still. The diazepam is to take as required through day or night, 5-10mg.
Please no ‘you should be asking your doctor this’.

you’re taking two different kinds of sedatives.
I can’t find any adverse reaction info for them together, but taking two different sedatives seems like a bad idea all around.

You can take the two different medications but Stilnox can have some bizarre side effects. I hope they have been explained to you. One Australian Sports TV Reporter (google Clinton Grybas) took Stilnox & walked off his balcony to his death. There have been reports of people also driving their cars, eating, sleep walking, doing the washing. Stilnox should be taken about 1/2 hr prior to bedtime.
I am perplexed why 2 different Dr.s failed to check your full medical history & medication details? Did you disclose to the 2nd Dr. that you were already on Stilnox, before he prescribed Diazepam? If you don’t know all the side effects, ask your pharmacist for an information sheet. Please be careful

For the unmotivated: Diazepam is Valium, Stlinox is Ambien.
Your doctor should know what other medications you are on. If he prescribed it with full knowledge of other medicines you take, you should be fine. If he prescribed the medication without knowing what other pills you take, he is irresponsible. If you didn’t tell him what other pills you take, you are irresponsible.
I’ve never heard of any interaction between the two drugs when used responsibly. Both do carry very high risk of addiction, though. Be careful.

Be careful of Stilnox some people are pretty sensitive to it. I hallucinated on it when I was trying and regulate my sleeping pattens. Shortly after I took it my brother turned into a king and the couch turned into a golden throne…so I stopped taking it!
It should be okay…they regularly gave me diazepam and another sleeping pill together when I was in hospital…and Im still kicking
…you can over dose though if you take to many!
Also these medications are addictive so just be aware of that.
